Deforestation increases the chances of wildfires in the Amazon.

We all agree that we have to join forces to reduce deforestation in the Amazon. One of the major causes of annual fires in the Brazilian Amazon is the use of out-of-date agricultural methods by small farmers and even community groups who, without official authority, use fire to clean their pastures and fields, leading to out-of-control flames.

Besides the biodiversity devastation, the files also impact many families every year. In 2020, flames burned almost 19 million acres of the world’s largest tropical forest. Experts predict a year as bad as 2020.

Conservationists don’t expect the Brazilian government to conserve the Amazon, encompassing 60% of the nation.

Our mission is to help amazon communities of all sizes fight fires and educate the local communities by offering them more sustainable living options in the Amazon.

Stretching westward from the Andes to the Atlantic, the Amazon Rainforest is one of the world’s largest ecosystems. At the Andean foothills, the forest spreads out to a 1,200-mile (1,900-kilometer) broad belt from an initial 200-mile (320-kilometer) front. Brazil is home to over 60% of the Amazon rainforest. Due to the Amazon rainforest’s extension and the difficulties reaching and protecting its entire land, many local communities do not have access to essential fire protection and safety.

Although deforestation, climate change, and other man-made disasters affect the increase in fires in the rainforest; another critical aspect of the fires that surge in the rain forest region is the use of fire to clean up small local plantations, small farms, and even wast cleaning methods for smaller communities.

ACF aims to help those communities to create a local brigade and educational center to support the local communities dealing with fire safety to avoid fires in the region.
